Pc black-screening when i install gpu drivers

So it started a few days ago when i was updating drivers for modern warfare beta my pc would crash during gaming after 5 mins a few hours later it was completely black screening and would only boot into safe mode, since then i have tried a fresh windows install which allows my pc to boot into windows but as soon as i install the nvidia drivers it black screens and only boots into safe mode, i have used DDU then reinstalled them again which the first time worked for about 5 mins then it black screened and upon reTrying this process it continued to black screen immediately when reinstalling drivers, im running a rtx 2070 super and a evga 750 g3. I am using braided power

extensions maybe these could be faulty, any help would be appreciated

Well if you suspect the cables to be faulty, I'd try and switch them out with the original ones and try that?

Otherwise it sounds like the GFX is on it's way out.

Try it in another pc to make sure.

my guess would be power limits.

750 seems a small psu from ive read and heard about the rtx cards

if you have a bigger psu try that

Even the 2080Ti can't pull more than 300W, RTX2070 won't even reach 250W @1440p Metro, even Furmark can't push it beyond 235W

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600  Heatsink: ID-Cooling Frostflow X GPU: Zotac GTX 1060 Mini 6GB RAM: KLEVV Bolt 3600Mhz (2x8GB) Mobo: ASUS B550-F ROG Strix (Wifi)  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C PSU: Deepcool DQ-M-V2L

Tried with the stock cables didnt help, talked to nvidia they said to ‘reset’ the card by moving it to another pcie slot, but this didnt help, lets see what else they suggest or if they just ask to send the card in

ok then lets say 300w just for gpu

how much is cpu and mobo and all peripherals pulling? my guess is your just over the 600w max of the psu and when your installing the drivers, its trying to activate the cards full

potential and it dont have enough power to do so. when you boot in safe mode, what drivers are you running on the gpu,

436.30 is a horrible driver. Don't use it. Use 431.60. Yes, this is the one before the MW Beta driver. On 436.30 myself, I lost audio in a few games and DDUing and installing 431.60 resolved it.

Just tried this, worked for 30 seconds then black screened, now cant even get a post out of the GPU which i assume is just as coincidence and the card was slowly failing this whole time

have you tried a different output port on the GPU and cables?

I just tried a usb c to hdmi cable, this booted into windows and black screened as soon as i entered pin

Another theory i have is there has been some sort of fail in the power delivery and this is causing the chip to reach thermal max and shut off, my card feel particularly hot to the touch considering i am only booting into windows but both fans are working, this was tested with side panel off so airflow isnt a factor

What other cables have you tried? Have you tried different ports with the cable on the GPU if able, how about a different monitor/TV?

So ive tried usb c to hdmi, usb c to display port and a normal display port, all of these currently are booting (using the driver 431.60) once i get to the windows lock screen and enter my pin, my pc instantly crashes, booting in safe mode allows me to fully get into windows, i need to test getting a normal HDMI cable and using integrated graphics, however i am very confident that this will boot fine if i don't use the GPU and that there is hardware issues in the GPU

Currently when i restart pc most of the time it will instantly black screen before getting to windows lock screen, my monitor will go black then come on with the no signal message it will do this 3 times before going in to stand-by, less commonly it will get to the lock screen at which point entering my pin will cause a black screen.
