Hi I have a PC that has a 120 GB SSD for the OS and a 512 GB Nvme for my programs and games, and i wanted to get a hdd too for file storage but idk which one between a internal or a external one?

(I was thinking about getting NAS too but its pretty expensive and its active 24/7 so idk if it can affect the electricity bills that much)

External HDDs connect over USB and will/may be limited by the USB capabilities. Plus takes up space on the desk. Internal connects over SATA and is attached to the case.

Unless you want to carry the HDD along separate of the PC, there is no point to choose external over internal.

To add to that thought, external ones are much cheaper. Internal 8TB drive is 250€, while an external one is 150€, almost 2x cheaper.

The difference is much smaller with smaller sizes tho.

I only see your reply if you @ me.
