Hi guys,

I changed HD+ (1600x900) display with FHD (1920x1080) on laptop but when I boot into OS it says that my maximum resolution can be still 1600x900.

Laptop is HP Pavilion G7 with Manjaro Linux running on it.

If anyone can tell me what should I do in order to alliow FHD and to change it I would appreciate it.

update drivers?

update everything

BTW. I have the same issue on my virtual box manjaro but i havent installed proper drivers yet so thats probably it.

I am using "video-linux" drivers. When I install proprietary "video-catalyst" drivers it won't boot into system anymore.

I updated everything including kernel but nothing happens.

Btw. I think @eemunni has right that I have to change display cable but still I'm not 100% sure.
