I finally bit the bullet and and replaced my beloved 750ti (laugh all you want, that card was a beast and played everything I needed it too) with an XFX RX 570 8gb.  When I was using the 750 which was an EVGA Superclocked edition, the temps sat in the low 30's when Idle and never usually hit 70 when gaming.  The new RX 570 however seems to idle in the low to mid 40's and hits mid 70's under load.  Is this normal?  I've never owned an AMD gpu before so I am unsure if they just run hotter.  I question it mostly because World Of Warcraft never seemed to spike the temps on my old card but when I run it now for even 30ish minutes, the temps seem to jump right to about 73-75.  Thanks in advance for any input on this!

RX570 is rated for 2.5x the TDP after all (150w vs 60w) so not surprising. 75C isnt too high tho

I'd Say That The Temps Are Fine.

The RX 570 Is A Much More Powerful Card With A TDP Much Higher Than The 750ti So Naturally The Temps Would Be A Bit Higher Anyway.

If It Gets Into The Mid 80's Id Start To Worry But At 70-75 Degrees Its Running Fine.

I hope that I was able to help 🙂

Your gpu temps can go to 110c and still work,   Problem is with stability and voltages and what not that stand in your way.

I thought I was the only one to have the same concern. So there are others out there who has the RX 570 running very hot. I actually felt the back of the card and found it burning hot.

My Inno3D GTX 560 Ti died 2 months ago. I got an old system, i5 3570K, P8Z77-I Deluxe and a Corsair 750W PSU in a Bitfenix Prodigy case. After I replaced dead card, I have been very very happy because under Windows 10 and DX12 support, games like Civilization VI, Railway Empire and Mafia II are running superbly high FPS.

But the trouble is particularly with Civlization VI, the card runs at very high temperature up to 75C within 15 ~ 20 minutes of playing. My RX 570 is the ASUS overclocked version with 4GB VRAM. It comes with a utility called GPU Tweak II. 6 weeks after using the card, I realized I didn't fully utilized this utility. It has a fan curve for me to adjust the behaviour of the fan. Check out the screenshot below. Using the utility doesn't mean the temperature doesn't rise steeply anymore, but the fan cools it down quite functionally. Now the fan will spin up to 85% with the temp holding at 60~62C with the curve as shown. I gather from somewhere that 75 C is the max the card can get.

Now in retrospect, I believe my GTX 560 Ti was killed by overheat while running Civlization VI. The game has the same heat problems even for its previous version Civlization V. I was not aware of that because I never used any utility to track the card's temperature then.

Do you have similar utility which comes with your card? If there is one, use it.  It is not wise to leave it running too hot, when PC's components get hot, everything will be slowed down.  My current system has been running for 6+ years and it never has a hang situation, not even once; I believe it is because I never overclock anything even though I bought the K version of 3570 for the provision to overclock. Besides, overclock is really not for daily usage, imagine you work over-time every day for 6 years, how would you feel?  Your health degrade. So do computer components, unless you upgrade or total replace your PC every 2 years or so, otherwise, run everything at stock may not be a bad idea.

I'll have to check the CD that came with the card.  I just tossed it aside thinking it was just outdated drivers.  Thanks for the info!

Fortunately I bought Asus version. I check the XFX website just now, cant find any utility of the sort.

Try SpeedFan 4.5.2, just google and you will find it. You can use it to setup a fan speed curve.

I actually adjusted the curve with MSI Afterburner and its running much cooler now.  It gets a little loud when the fans spin up but, not enough to bother me :)

Great!

The fan, yes, it does spin very fast above 2000 rpm and I can hear very loud especially at night, possibly because my room being small is a reason. In fact, I have installed a Furious Vardar 3000 rpm 120 mm exhaust fan at the rear and under SpeedFan, it does help 2 to 3 degrees when it is at 80% speed, I actually have recorded a game video.

By the way, the RX 570 is a great card, it gives me 60+ FPS with ultra settings in Fortnite!!  But my CPU is a 3570K at stock speed. I suppose if I upgrade my CPU slightly to 9400F, the FPS will be superb.
