There is no cheap boards for these cpus, so unless you have a board laying around, id avoid it. These chips were made for 4 and 8 socket systems, and there was almost no atx boards for these chips. There most commonly found in servers like the dell r920, and those systems still aren't cheap.

 

Also desktop ryzen or modern intel has added a good amount of new features aswell, so id stay away from and older system if you can. They will also be much faster than that old xeon.
