Difference between Ubuntu and MacOS for web dev?

I'm currently embarking on a full-stack project that (apparently) requires MacOSx. My question is, would it suffice to simply dualboot Ubuntu with my windows laptop or do I really need a MacOS machine(either through some painful hackintoshing or borrowing a much slower dualcore Macbook)?

 

Mods please feel free to close this thread. Got more specs and it was because Docker apparently runs better on MacOS than Windows and natively on Linux so I'll be proceeding with Ubuntu.

Well MAC is based off Linux.  So you should be able to do it.

Well, whoever you heard it from are wrong. Don't believe everything people tell you and don't believe everything you read on an internet article. I have seen many blogs and quora answers which are just downright wrong.

really depends on the languages being used 

if its mean or mevn stack, it shouldn't make a difference thou

if your using mac os specify apps that changes 

 

also id say avoid windows for backend dev since you'll prob deploy the back end on a linux machine

MacOS is based off of BSD

Unix -> BSD -> MacOS/Darwin
