card upgrade

Hi, im currently running two 1080 in sli, what new card will be a good upgrade for a casual gamer? Yes i know the 2080ti is the top but kinda looking for a budget+ card.

your 1080ti sli setup is probably the best option. It is better then the 5700xt and 2070,so just stick with that

You could sell that another 1080 because sli is pretty dead nowadays and save that money for something

To add to other peeps posts.  I can tell youe SLI is dead and nVidia knows it as well so do LTT peeps.  You might get 10 percent  speed improvement.  Also you will run into problems with many games.  Just stick with your 1080 for now.  No rush, 1080 is plenty for 1440p gaming and high settings in games.  You will get good frame ratest and what not.  Just wait it out until the 3xxx series then pull the trigger.

it's only half dead considering Nvidia still lets you use it, tho bug fixes for SLI tends to be rather slow and optimization updates dont target SLI anymore.

 

but there isnt a single GPU that will beat the 1080 SLI config immediately. the 2080Ti could outperform it in games that dont work well with SLI, but then for the stupid high price... I'd say it's not a viable option either. Wait for next gen will be my answer.
