so here is my question is it possible to access programs from another drive without having to install them on the main c drive? such as lets say office or something else. for example I would be using a sata ssd and an nvme drive but I could install windows on the sata and have my programs on the d or nvme drive. what I am wondering can you actually access the programs on the secondary drive without having to install them on the main drive? I have been wondering this for a long time because if so it would make my life easier rather than having to install everything on the main drive again or something. its a time consuming process which I am just trying to see if there is a better way of dealing with program install instead of always installing on the c drive where windows is.

its not so much the install that I am concerned about. its running the program from a different drive without it being the c drive. that's my concern. like running a game from a different drive. the problem I have had is most if not all programs want to install to c drive. I know I can change that but its running them afterwards which I want to change so they run on the d drive instead.

They will run from whatever drive you originally install them too, assuming they let you choose this upon installation.

ok. umm can you do that so you can pin stuff to the taskbar regardless of the drive?

Yes? That's how it works by default? I have Overwatch installed to a drive that isn't C drive and can pin the icon to my taskbar if I want to.
