Bottlenecking

Hi everyone,

 

I have a question regarding bottlenecks:

I currently run an AMD FX 4300 CPU with 16gb ram and a GTX 970.

If I upgrade my GPU from here to say a GTX 1080 will my CPU bottleneck it in games like War Thunder or World of Warships?

Upgrade cpu first, that fx 4300 is really old and probably wont be able to keep up for the next 1-2 years, while that gtx970, while not the best, it should still be able to keep up in the next 1-2 years if u can sacrifice some quality.

Your CPU is already severely bottlenecking the 970. A 1080 would be a waste of money.

 

Upgrade the CPU, Board and RAM to a Ryzen 5 3600(X), B450 board and dual channel DDR4 3000+MHz RAM

3200-3600 if you have the budget.
