PC, budget gaming PC build.

QantasAviator

Hi everyone :)

looking to build a budget gaming PC. I own a macbook, and while its amazing at note taking...      it aint no gaming laptop. I'm looking to do basic photo editing, Minecraft, CSGO and basic games. Are these components compatible?

--------

AMD Athlon 200GE. (incl. Radeon Vega graphics.

Kingston SSD (240gb) SATA 3.

Thermaltake Versa h17

Evga 500w PSU

ASUS TUFZ370

Corsair (2x4gb) LPX 8GB, DDR4. 2400MHz

---------

Apologies in advance if this is in the incorrect area of the forum. Not looking for recommendations on peripherals. Already have keyboard and mouse. Already have a 2.5 500gb HDD from a broken Macbook Pro, so i have plenty of storage available.

Depends do you want an upgrade path or the cheapest possible motherboard?  Also you have seen some video's of the 200ge gaming correct?  I only ask this because it will get you by but just barely @ 1080p.

Yea, i just looked. Pretty horrible, likely to choose the AMD Ryzen 3 3200G instead.

I would take a look at some b450 micro atx motherboards that fit in your budget.  To pair with that 3200g

Have you considered using pre-owned components? On a low budget, making use of pre-owned hardware can result in a build drastically faster than it's new counterpart.

To make things better, all these parts can be had from eBay with a return policy. Still, new hardware does have it's charms. The choice is yours.

Take this build for example (all prices are in USD):

Processor: Intel Xeon X3470, $13

Processor Cooler: Intel Stock Cooler, $7

Motherboard: H55/P55 Motherboard, $40

Memory: 8GBs of DDR3, $20

Graphics Card: GTX 1060 3GB, $100

SDD- 240GB, $30

HDD- 1TB 7200RPM, $19

Power Supply: 450W-500W B-Stock, $25
Case: Any inexpensive case, $30
Total: $285

This is a killer PC for sub $300.
