my pc seems to be having an issue where the left shift key no longer works by pressing, but occasionally it will capitalize a letter while typing. so it works on it's own wheneveR it feels like it.

'ssssssssssssssSssssssssssssssSssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss'

that's what it looks lIke when i just hoLd down the s button. I'vE tried new kEyboards and it does it even using the on screen keYboarD. it will fix itself if i restart, but that only works for a few minutes then it goes right back to acting up.

Any ideas/

Either you have some other device connected to your system that's acting up, or there's something wrong with your OS. Make a bootable Ubuntu USB-stick, see if the problem appears there; if it doesn't, try reinstalling your OS. If it does, start removing excess peripherals from your system and seeing if the problem goes away.
