What model PSU?

Going off the spec sheet you shouldn't be having any issues, all your drivers and Windows are up to date? Made sure you don't have v-sync on?

Are you running ICUE 3.19 which appears to be pegging CPU0 @100% (hardware interrupts) which has the effect of lowering the FPS due to the high latency caused by the interrupts. If you are, try dropping back to V3.18 until Corsair solves the (known) issue.

Oooooooo thanks for that tidbit, I need to install iCUE to manage my RMi tonight, will make sure I install 3.18 when I do that.

I haven't downgraded yet but I'm on a 9900k and ATM playing retro shooters so I haven't felt rushed. The only bugger is that as the first logical CPU is pinned at 100%, the CPU is permanently boosted.

Aight that's a solid PSU for sure, I have the same one. ?

I'd make sure your GPU drivers are on the latest version. You should be able to right click on the desktop and open Nvidia Settings or Nvidia Control Panel (haven't run my Nvidia cards in a bit, I forget what it's called), then go to global settings and make sure v-sync is off or set to fast.

  • What resolution are you playing at?
  • Do you have Vsync enabled in Rust?
  • Have you installed the Nvidia drivers for your RTX2080Ti?
  • If yes to the above question; Uninstall the display drivers using DDU and install the latest version from the Nvidia website
  • Use MSI Afterburner to monitor your CPU & GPU usage. What are their usage in game? Temperatures?

Corsair iCue. It's Corsair's software for controlling peripherals. If you're using the Corsair Link functionality of your RM1000i PSU, or any Corsair peripherals such as keyboards, headsets, mice, RGB fans, etc, you will do that through Corsair iCue (replaced Corsair iLink).

i do have some launch options set aswell and this is them,

-nolog -high -maxMem=30000 -malloc=system -cpuCount=8 -exThreads=16 -force-d3d11-no-singlethreaded

Try removing all that and seeing if it helps.

cpu usage seems to stau around 20-40% at around 40 celcius

gpu usage is around 40% at 55 celcius

memory usage is 7000 out of 8000

ram usage 13500 out of 16000

You don't have Vsync enabled locking you at 60FPS, do you?

Otherwise your GPU and CPU shouldn't be at 40% usage. Should be seeing much higher usage.

Is it just a problem with Rust? What about running a benchmark like 3DMark Timespy? How does the system perform there?

gonna try removing my launch options and this is the score from the 3d mark, 5f1a6d1d884d18d6c9e8910bae049fe3.png

thi idk if launch options will change annything cuz ik rust has problems taking advantage of more cores and using more than 4 by iteslf so some of the launch options are to help rust, tho idk cuz i ahve not tried without it yet.

GPU test looks normal. CPU test looks a little low, from what I see in reviews the 9900k is scoring around 11,000 points in the CPU test.

CPU & GPU temps look good from that, so that shouldn't be an issue.

What frequency is your memory running at? If you're at the default 2133MHz that might impact your CPU score a little.
