1 IDE cable cannot handle 2 drives

Justasking
Go to solution Solved by peger,

There should be jumpers on the drives. Set one drive as master and other as slave .

So, just for fun I want to set up a pc with my spare IDE drives, and I have cables with 3 total connectors(1 goes to motherboard, other 2 go to drives). If I only use one drive everythings ok but with 2 it doesnt work, and in bios I get a weird name for the drive. How can I get both drives working fine? (mobo: asus m2a-VM, 2 gb of DDR2 ram, amd athlon 64 x2 4000+ cpu)

IDK. Did you check the jumper diagram on the disks. Different manufacturers may have different settings.
