Need A Little Help Here

Hello Folks.

 

I'm trying to learn a little Photoshop, and right now I'm trying out Photo manipulation.

Now my question is, how do I make the following picture look more like an explosion, than a really bright sunset?

I tried to make it look like an atomic blow, but to me it just ends up looking like a sunset.

I think it looks like the pretty side of a atomic bomb that few seconds of light that you see before you know your going to die

Dude from what stand point...the second an atomic bomb goes off if you're in a perimeter of like 2-3+ miles you'd be incinerated only your shadow may be left.

Not bad but I think you should have decreased the size of the cars and road from the first image on your photoshop merge image but it looks cool. 

I need to learn how to use illustrator and photoshop too  @Jogostar

yeah I tried that, but all the peolpe from the NY picture were visible, so insted of masking them out, I took the easy way and just made the street wider. :P

I already did some photoshop a few years ago, but I lost motivation, but now I'm trying to get back into it again.
