In 2018, my gpu fried and I had to get a new one. I got a GTX 1060 6GB. When I got it, I was able to run games like Counter Strike: Global Offensive at a consistent 300 frames. I had overclock the gpu when I got it. Since i got it, it has not been performing like it should. In GTA 5, it tells me that im only using 2gb of the 6gb but im getting noticeable bad frames. CSGO now runs at 120 frames and it constantly drops to 90. My PC Specs are,

Windows 10 Pro (x64)

Maximus VII Hero

16 Gigs of RAM.

GTX 1060 (6GB)

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 4001 Mhz, 4 Core(s)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

How do I do that? All I know how to do is keep my drivers updated

You download and run DDU in Safe Mode, then download the different driver from Nvidia's site and install that one.

I understand what to do, but what did these 4xx variant drivers do to the performance of the gpu?

as far as i have seen and observed, some of the 4xx variants does not utilize the full potential of the Card.
You can download several version and check the performance in different games, check whats best for you.
As i have GTX 1070 Ti, i tested different version including latest 4xx ones too but the one that gives me more fps and stable performance is 388.71
