pcpartsbuilder is your friend. Even more so, it is our friend.

If you don't have a budget or don't plan on upgrading for many years, that's a good CPU.

For most other uses it's pretty overkill, if it's just a gaming rig.

A 4770k would probably suit you pretty well if you want to venture into i7 territory.

im from Canada so currency is CAD im planning on multi tasking tbh along with having 2-3 monitor setup. Multi-tasking will include of editing and rendering gameplays mostly for competitive side of mgl but not hardcore. Just for team montages as im planning to to an editor for a team alongside with my other edits for other games. Also im not planning to upgrade for a solid 2 yrs untill we have a clear grip and undestanding for 4k gaming. Even for that I would only be looking to upgrade GPU and Monitor mostly likely. Budget I would say anywhere from 2-3k.  :) Let me know if you guys want any further info to help me out on this case

ps: i did use pcpicker site before but apprently it showed compatibility issue with some parts that i have listed above

Monitor issue, had to fix, its fixed now.

4 Barracudas? You not just a 4TB, I don't think RAID would be a good idea when you've already listed a Samsung 840 Pro, for the money you save with getting a 4TB Barracuda you can get the 256GB Pro. If he's wanting to do video editing and multitasking than the 4770K might be a worthwhile investment. I don't think a 500W PSU would be a smart move as later on he might decide to SLI two Ti's instead if just getting a new GPU.

I think that 1 780 ti is more than enough.  Also, a 1000W psu is a bit overkill if you decide to go w/ no sli.

The build @danejesse1 posted but with the RM 850 so you can OC and go SLI. Gives you plenty of budget room for 3 monitors. Also, if deciding between Windows 7 and Windows 8, get Windows 8 because it will have future direct x support and games will be developed on it so games will play better on it.
