Hello,

I'm building a new system but have run into issues, hopefully someone here has an idea for a solution

i9-9900X
128GB VENGANCE LPX
ASUS X299-DELUXE II
2x 970 EVOPlus 1tb (I'm planning on running these in raid 0)
860 QVO 4TB
TITAN RTX

The system Boots up into BIOS showing idle CPU temp at 35c. All memory sticks are showing up. I've updated the Bios for the motherboard. Not using any overclocks.

When I use my WINDOWS USB stick it loads up, installs windows and all seems fine-- until the system restarts and gives me blue screen. After restarting again the windows Install is broken. I've tried a different USB stick with the same result.

I've also used another PC to install Windows on one of the M.2 drives, and in that system, Windows booted up just fine. When I use it in my new build it wont recognise it as an OS drive. Not really sure what the problem is here.

Appriciate any help :)

Thanks,
S

First, how exactly do you want to run RAID? Set it up in BIOS or Windows? My guess, it is all because of RAID (if ran in software mode aka was set up in Windows).

Try to install Windows w/o RAID 0 first on your PC, just to single 970. If that works, then you'll need to inject RAID F6 driver into OS installer before proceeding. You can find one on Intel's website.

Purify your Windows 10/11, don't give Microsoft anything that you don't want to share.

I havn't configured the RAID setup yet. I'm planning on running RAID 0 with the two M.2 drives.

I've tried to install Windows without raid mode and run it with just one of the 970s as well as the 860 SATA with the same result. I'm not sure if the Drives needs to be formated in a specific way--never had this problem. Also I've tried formating them through the BIOS Tool.

At this point I'm thinking maybe it's the CPU? If it sits on Idle at 35c, maybe it can still crash under load?

35° C on idle is normal for 9900K. If the problem was in CPU, it would crash in a different way... The problem lies within either OC or drivers. I take my bet on second.

You're right, it wasn't the CPU. I was able to make Windows work using an old installation file from 2017... haha. Not exactly sure why it won't insall properly with new installation media
