First Pc Build, 1000€ budget

Wamumu

Hey, I'm planning on build my first tower after years of playing on laptops. I will be following the recommendations so it can be easier for everyone.

1. Budget & Location

1000€ in Portugal, so items can be a bit more expensive.

The budget is only for the tower.

2. Aim

Gaming and the usual use like watching streams, browsing the internet and likewise.

3. Monitors

One for now, two in the future. 1080p 144hz is enough for now.

4. Peripherals

None needed. Besides monitor but I can do that myself.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Honestly, the charger for my laptop died, so I'm using that as an excuse to update from my 3.5 year old laptop instead of buying a replacement.

This is what I think I will be building:

Small Mistake on my part, the Gpu is the RX 5700, The non XT version

The Gpu costs 395€ so in total it is 990.70

Need help with the case and power supply because I have no idea.

And the CPU and GPU, is the Ryzen 5 3600 the best choice or is any Intel that is comparable? And is the Gpu really worth more 100€ than the 1660 Ti?

Finally, the shops that I will be using are https://www.pcdiga.com/

and

https://www.globaldata.pt/

if you want to compare and see prices.

5700xt is something like 6% slower than rtx 2070 super on multigame avg fps. benchmarks. So a lot faster than 1660ti (close to +50%).

I would maybe downgrade psu a bit and go for tx550m instead and buy a tower cooler for cpu.

Also ssd swapped to sata model saves 20€ too. There is pretty much no difference in games.

Nova Mesh looks like a nice case.

And get one or two fans for intake. https://www.globaldata.pt/ventoinha-arctic-cooling-p14-pwm-pst-preto-acfan00125a

The 5700 XT is way better than 1660 Ti for sure.
As said, you probably want to get a better PSU.

That power supply will be fine as long as you don't do any crazy CPU + GPU overclocking, just get any case that has airflow with a mesh front.

But I'd highly suggest just getting the Gaming X, X570 board for the VRM difference, and potential long term support. Can just run without a case if the budget is super tight. As you're going to want to overclock that CPU, and possibly your memory as well.

There is a 700W non modular PSU at around the same price though.

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I got the wrong Gpu there, is the non XT version.

I have 0 experience with overclocking, but I'm willing to learn, is that too hard or dangerous?

I dont mind going like 100€ over budget, but a case is going to be necessary.

A good quality 550w PSU can handle a 9900k 2080ti build as long as their is no overclocking so I'm sure it can handle a 3600 and 5700xt just fine.

A better motherboard is the only thing you should shoot for.

Overclocking is really easy, just open Ryzen master and punch in a frequency/voltage.

Just don't go over like 1.325V for Ryzen 3000 looks like from google.
