Question about upgrading

Hey guys!

 

At the moment my setup involves a gtx 970 and i7 2700k. I'm looking for 1080p 60 for games such as Borderlands 3 and Cyberpunk. BUT, I know whatever I upgrade will be bottlenecked by the other part. Sadly at the moment, I can't upgrade both so what do you think is the best route I can go with?

I know this is probably asked every day here but please bear with me since atm I'm lost and confused.

You should probably save your money until you can upgrade everything. Your current mobo will probably only support up to ivy bridge CPUs

Which is still pretty old.

What are the recommended system specs for BL3 and Cyberpunk?

Found this online for Borderlands, no word yet for cyberpunk

  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz / AMD FX-8370
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 106

I suspect your system will not hit 60fps consistently

only if you can sell your 970, otherwise look for a larger jump
