I call into question about the data they're presenting. A cursory glance on NewEgg tells me that no RTX 2070 has the NVLink connector necessary for SLI.

Depends on your use case - for gaming - nope not one bit

I’ve ordered 2 that’s the issue...

For gaming, it will not benefit you in any way

(except for in the game "Ashes of the Singularity" since it supports mixed GPUs with no bridge due to some cool API feature implementations.)

I need to look this up, sounds interesting.  I have an EATX board and a few old GPUs Id like to see what this does LOL

Its a pretty interesting feature that can be implemented in DX12 games. I have no idea how much legwork this takes on the developer's end, but IMO, it could be the future of multi gpu, who knows?

As far as i'm aware ashes is the only one to do it, and supposedly the scaling is surprisingly good. Certainly sounds fun to play with.

at that price point, 2080ti or 2080 super. whatever you can afford.

SLI is pretty dead and very few games yield any benefit from it nowadays. The single graphics card approach is always the better bang for your buck.
