Potential Upgrade Path

Hey Guys, I wanted to get your opinion on what I could potentially upgrade in my current rig. I am trying to save up my money to buy parts around the holiday seasons, maybe catch a great deal. I run a 1440p 144hz monitor and a 1080p 144hz.

Current Rig:

  • Intel i5 6600k OC 4800Ghz
  • 16GB Ram 2133Mhz
  • EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2
  • Samsung 500GB NVME SSD

I'm kind of looking to future proof myself for a while, looking to play something like Cyberpunk for next year at a reasonable frame rate and detail levels. 

Or if you guys think I am still at very good stage and shouldn't bother and just wait for even later generation stuff then by all means all opinions are welcome.

Did you think you were future proofing when you bought what you have now?  Stop using that term.  Buy stuff, then buy stuff again when it isn't enough.

 

Why are you looking to upgrade for a game coming out next year?  Wait til then.  Most likely your current machine will play it fine, it's not a slouch.

You are good, don't get an upgrade until you need It.

What's the reason for upgrading? Aren't you satisfied with the current performance? 

I'll recommend tinkering the in-game settings. You can upgrade to a 5700xt once the prices stabilize.
