Hey long time lurker here coming for advice. My MSI GE70 Apache Pro-061 laptop recently stopped posting at all. So far I have tried removing all storage, removing the cmos battery, reseating the ram and draining the battery. My issue is when I hit the power button a black screen with the msi logo appears but I cannot access the BIOS or boot to windows. Please help, specs below.

Intel Core i5-4200H 3.2 GHz

8 GB DDR3L SDRAM

1024 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive + 256 GB MSATA SSD

17.3-Inch Screen; NVIDIA Geforce GTX860M with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM

When did it happen and how sounds like it could be the mainboard that died but if its really that well then your out of luck

Yesterday afternoon. There's another post on the forum about it but that thread is years old and didn't have a fix.

This is from the Msi Forum *I finally figured it out. For this case, it was a corrupt bios and I have no idea what version it did have on it. I ended up having to remove the bios chip. And using my programmer, erase the chip and write a newer bios version to it. Soldered the chip back to the board. And bingo. Boot to windows login. Going to put a little time on it and make sure it is stable before returning it to the customer.* a few tryed it and it worked for all of them so i guess it could be really the a broken Bios

Thank you so much! Now I just have to find a way to do all that, it sounds a little above my pay grade but I live pretty close to Louis Rossman's shop maybe he could help.

I actually just called and they said I could bring it over tomorrow. Will definitely post an update if that's the fix.
