Ryzen 3000 Build

thvSPARK

I decided to wait out the recent storm of tech releases (I'm glad I did), and I think I'm safe to build now.

This system is mostly going to be used for game development / design and digital art (Unity, Unreal Engine 4, Adobe Creative Suite)

Some gaming, but mostly Rocket League and Destiny 2, not too intensive.

My budget is $1500 USD, I can't go more than $50 USD over that

I already have all the peripherals I need, my monitor is a 25" OMEN 144hz 1080p.

Here's the current build:

Any incompatibilities I'm not aware of? Planning on adding some Chromax heatsink covers / fans to the Noctua cooler (in the future), and I'm probably going to use the H710 (instead of the H700) when it is released.

Thanks for any help!

I'd replace the RM650 for the RM550x since 550W is still sufficient for this build and the RM is significantly stripped down from the original RMx for the same price (even factoring in that 15$ rebate).

In fact if you want 650W I'd also favor the TX650M over the RM (2019), it's kinda of a bait and switch from Corsair use the "RM" branding on a power supply that is significantly inferior to the RMx we all know and love.

Thanks for the advice, PSU naming schemes are a bit confusing.

Is there by any chance a buying guide for Corsair power supplies that tells which model lineups are good and which ones aren't so great?

I made my original decision on the PSU using the LTT PSU Tier List here:

Oh darn.

Another victim of the confusing placements of some of the Psu in ther tier list.

Even though jonnyguru himself has said that the RM 2019 is worse than the txm in builda quality.

Is there a specific reason you want a x570 MB? If not, I'd look into a b450 with a USB firmware option. Msi is from what I understand a solid option.

What about something like this:

MSI B450 Tomahawk should be fine to run a 3900X and it has bios flashback so you can update the bios for Ryzen 3000 compatibility.

You can opt to go down in GPU to a 2070 vanilla and invest on a better case if you don't like the size or airflow of the H500.

I'm planning on taking advantage of pcie 4.0 down the road, and only X570 supports that right now

Planning on using an X570 board for pcie 4.0, but I could definitely tweak this build

Why is everyone recommending the Intel SSD over Crucial? I thought Intel's had a bad rap?

From everything I've read, and actually Anthony posted to me, there is absolutely nothing out there right now nor in the near future that will actually utilize pcie 4.0.

But please, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm looking for answers, too!
