So after a few years of watching LTT, and seeing all of them promote the forms I decided to actually try it. And after reading things in this tread in particular, I figured it would be good to gut check my upgrade choices.

Currently my rig is about 4 years old and I'm looking to update it. This is my current build, monitors and all:

What I'm looking to upgrade is my CPU, board, Cooler, and possibly add an M.2 drive, but I'm not 100% sold on that.

This is what I'm working on right now for the updates to the system:

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 V2

What I'm torn between is boards. These are just the ones I like, but I'm open to other suggestions.

1. MSI MPG Z390 (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/t8qhP6/msi-mpg-z390-gaming-edge-ac-atx-lga1151-motherboard-mpg-z390-gaming-edge-ac)

2. ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-H (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BvQG3C/asus-rog-strix-z390-h-gaming-atx-lga1151-motherboard-rog-strix-z390-h-gaming)

My CPU is starting run into issues with both Unity and Unreal as I'm working to try and get into game design for a career and I need something a little more powerful. Gaming performance is a nice bonus.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.
