So i just moved from a 1050 ti to a 1660 ti, i run a mutliple display setup and both my monitors have only HDMI, i used to run 1 on the HDMI and one on a DP to hdmi adapter.

After changing the GPU the Adapter stopped working.

heres what i tried

  • Running with the adapter cable only connected ( Runs setup and loading screen stops working after getting into the lockscreen of windows) so i think its a software/windows issue not the GPU it self
  • doing a clean install of drivers (same as before)
  • CTRL P and used the duplicate settings (monitor still shows no signal)
  • "Rigorous display detection" from the Nvidia Control panel
  • Setup multiple displays from the Nvidia Control Panel (the second monitor doesnt show up)

Please help me if you can. i really cant spend an extra dime on a new monitor and the used market is dead where i live

Yeah, like I said, bad adapter. There is no such thing as a well-built, high quality video adapter. If you buy 10 of them, 1 will be DOA, 4 will die within the next 6 months and 3 more will go within a year.

All the same, what part of the world are you in?

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

Same happened to me with my HDMI switch after i upgraded to Turing,

I think that we need to upgrade to adaptors that match the hdmi/Display port standards of our GPUs.

So time to grab a new HDMI switch with the newest fastest HDMI standard :D

I live in the UAE while there are monitors in the used market its not really dead but the prices are way too high (close to brand new) and no one is willing to go down to a reasonable price

Well, I am definitely not driving to the UAE with a monitor to troubleshoot. The hub you linked there looks an awful lot like one I've used for a couple of years now without ever having a problem, but I've only used it to convert DP to VGA.
