Hey guys, run into a bit of trouble here. So I needed to change a dying CMOS battery on my motherboard but upon restart the computer wouldn't recognize the boot disk which is a regular samsung sata ssd. Turns out it was just a loose connection but I'm stuck in a repair loop, ran through all of the options and it can't auto repair. The SrtTrail.txt says

root cause found

boot critical file c:\efi\microsoft\boot\...... bootres.dll is corrupt

repair action: file repair

result: failed  error code 0x57

I tried the bootrec commands /fixmbr completed successfully, /fixboot access denied, /scanos and /rebuildbcd says "total identified windows installations 0"

also, the command prompt is an x: but I can move into the C drive where the OS is installed.

currently downloading a windows flashdrive to try and repair it but I really hope this won't require a complete fresh install.

any ideas ?

thanks in advance.
