What motherboard

What motherboard would be compatible wtih Corsair Vengeance Ddr4 3200mhz 2x4gb (CMK8GX4M2B3200C16) And r7 1700 ? I would like a budget option, nothing that exceeds 100$. Thank you!

I checked , my ram isnt in the compatible ram list of the board.. r7 1700 is summit ridge right?

it doesnt have to be in the QVL, it only lists memory MSI tested on, not everything that runs.

So how do you know my ram will work with the mobo? :D And is it a good one? For oc and stuff

because most people get 3200MHz RAM to work with 1st gen Ryzen after so many BIOS and AGESA (microcode) updates.

 

It's the best for the price. There is no RGB stuff or more than necessary connectivity though

What about the asrock b450 pro 4? I can get it almost 15€ cheaper than the msi board.

The memory controller is in the processor itself, so the board manufacturers don't really control the compatibility. That is Intel RAM, so you may or may not have good luck getting the XMP to work with 1000 series Ryzen. I'm sure BIOS updates have probably helped a lot.

I would recommend you MSI B450m Pro VDH Plus if you can find it for cheap - MSI states support up to 3466MHz but as others said it will depend on your memory controller but should be fine

I can get that one for 75€ and the msi b450-a pro for 98€. @Jurrunio should I just go for the A?

If you’re looking JUST for ram support pro VDH will do - if you’re talking about build quality, over locking potential, of course A pro will be superior, you get what you’ve paid for.

It’s worse, not by much. Equally Pro-VDH plus is almost the same as gaming plus, only heatsink size differ

B450m gaming plus is 83€, B450-A pro is 98€.
