I too would be interested.

A family member got one similar to this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/APC-BE700G-UK-Interface-Power-Saving-Back-UPS/dp/B002RXED6A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391213065&sr=8-1&keywords=UPS

He uses it on an old Dell i7 860 system. That tower, monitor, router, printer plugged into it. It lasts about 10-20 minutes on backup, enough to save what you are doing and shutdown safely. :)

The Cyberpower 1350 is a solid piece of equipment. http://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP1350AVRLCD-Intelligent-Series-Mini-Tower/dp/B000OFXKFI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391213350&sr=8-1&keywords=Cyberpower+1350.

Three year warranty, well built. Software could be better but is perfectly functional. Rated for 810 Watts which about matches your PSU so should be plenty. They have variants for different loads you can select on that page.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

That looks great! right around my price range aswell.

Now would this be able to handle another monitor in the future? maybe a 27 inch 1440 in adition to what I have?

Anything APC will do the trick quite well. They have stats on their website as to how long a unit will last on its battery.

Yeah to be on the serious side, I typically use APC for my surge protect power bars and UPS. I like them and have never had an issue.
