Motherboard BIOS Flashing

Hey so sorry if we already have this posted somewhere but I couldn't find it. I would love a link to it if it is!

 

So I am building my first PC and I bought this MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H

I bought this CPU to pair it with: Ryzen 5 2600

 

I realized that the CPU is not in the compatibility list of the motherboard after troubleshooting for a while (Don't make fun I am already embarrassed ) 

 

My question is, can I flash the BIOS of my board to be compatible with my CPU or is that not how BIOS flashing works?

You'll have to use a first-gen Ryzen CPU to update the BIOS, but yes, it should work after that.

 

 

You might just want to return the motherboard and get something different with a better chipset.

It's on the supported list.  Along with just about every Ryzen CPU including 3000 series.

Your BIOS is probably outdated as you mentioned, I don't believe this board supports USB Bios flashing so your best bet is to borrow a ryzen 1000 series CPU to update it.

Yeah I have thought about just returning it. I think that is probably the best Idea. Thanks guys!

Yeah, that's absolutely the reason it won't post.

Replace it with something that has a good chipset.
