Hey so sorry if we already have this posted somewhere but I couldn't find it. I would love a link to it if it is!

So I am building my first PC and I bought this MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H

I bought this CPU to pair it with: Ryzen 5 2600

I realized that the CPU is not in the compatibility list of the motherboard after troubleshooting for a while (Don't make fun I am already embarrassed ?

My question is, can I flash the BIOS of my board to be compatible with my CPU or is that not how BIOS flashing works?

It's on the supported list.  Along with just about every Ryzen CPU including 3000 series.

Your BIOS is probably outdated as you mentioned, I don't believe this board supports USB Bios flashing so your best bet is to borrow a ryzen 1000 series CPU to update it.

You'll have to use a first-gen Ryzen CPU to update the BIOS, but yes, it should work after that.

You might just want to return the motherboard and get something different with a better chipset.

I must have really tired when I looked at the CPU support list last night XD

Thanks!

I assume that is why my system won't post. Does that seem accurate?

Yeah, that's absolutely the reason it won't post.

Yeah I have thought about just returning it. I think that is probably the best Idea. Thanks guys!

Replace it with something that has a good chipset.
