Hey so I bough a pc with a the i9 9900k and a good cooler but I think my motherboard is too bad for overclocking. Could somoene help me how to safely set up the cpu voltage. Iam really scared of make that value higher... Is it even possible with that motherboard ? :/

Just leave it at the stock settings with MCE off. No point in cooking the board for 300mhz more.

Why 300mhz ? The stock speed is 3.6ghz or am I wrong

no... I'm afraid that the vrm gets so hot you'll have to point a fan at it

The stock boost is 4.3-4.4 for all cores. Let it do its thing and leave it at that.

Okay but I think its dump leaving the i9 9900k at stock. I have some fans left here. Maybe I can cool the vrm...

So I found some fans here. I want to cool the vrm but I dont really know where the vrm is... Could you describe it to me. I would appreciate it

You can actually buy a fan holder for the VRM chips, my ASUS Rog board came with one. 

 

Probably 4 bucks off amazon.

Sounds pretty usefull for me but I cant find that thing on the internet ...

Then buy an actually good board. You can't run a CPU that uaes 200w or more at 4.8-5 and use it on the cheap at board with garbag VRM cooling.

That's also stock. I googled a bit more - the stock frequency for all-core turbo is 4.7. Just let it do it's thing and don't push it. Assuming the board remains under 90*C, you should be fine.

Just disable MCE - that's an autooverclock feature that and overvolts.

There are a lot of good tutorials on how to overclock the 9900k or any cpu on YouTube. I would def do it. It's 10% free performance. Plus, as long as you have decent airflow you are not going to cook the VRM's. That is way too dramatic.
