So this is the 1st gen Ryzen supported table and this is some testing i done on Single Rank x 4 sticks rated for 3466.

These tables i think are more whats been tested and confirmed to work, not necessarily what can be done.

Greetings,

So I am looking into building a new system and my question is regarding RAM channels in accordance with the CPU memory controller. So the Ryzen 3000s say they are dual-channel 3200Mhz compatible. and a MOBO say the X570 Asrock Taichi states that for Duel rank (is this just saying dual channel?) you can only have 2 sticks at 3200MHz. So what's the point of having 4 ram slots? if I fill all 4 slots with 2 different dual kits been careful to keep the dual-channel setup A1-B1 A2-B2 will it still be functional as 2 dual channels with the Ryzen? or, should I just only get 1 dual-channel kit at 3200Mhz matching the Ryzen's compatibility.

No. Single rank ram have chips on one side and Dual rank have chips on both sides.

Usually defined by the 1R or 2R on the sticker or part number.

Hmmm, interesting. so the motherboard can only support 2 dual rank 3200 ram sticks. this still means I can only have 2 sticks correct? and so the Ryzen supporting dual channel only means I should bother having only 1 dual kit right?
