This is a bump of another user's post that I am also encountering. On my University laptop, I don't expect to play any impressive games, but when trying to open the Minecraft Java Launcher or even something as lightweight as Spotify, I end up having the window show either a white screen, or a black border that outline's the window's parameters with nothing filled in. In the example of the Minecraft launcher, I am able to move my cursor around and click start, because I know where that button is, but when I start it, it just crashes. I found somewhere along the pipeline that disabling my AMD graphics device would allow me to see the windows, which ended up working, but this poses new problems. Again in the case of Minecraft Java, I can then see the launcher, and click play, but then upon launching, it crashes and states that my driver does not support OpenGL. I ran a full scan and repair of all drivers using DriverEasy Pro. And I'm still in the same spot that I was from the beginning. I of course also ran DDU to give that a try and of course came out no luckier than before. If anyone else has any other things in mind that might be able to fix this, I would really appreciate any feedback.

  • 7 months later...

Hi!

I think i've found a solution!

I had the same issue for about a month trying reinstalling drivers and windows.

After billions of surgeries i managed to make my gpu work properly (almost).

I opened the app that was white-screening and tried to turn off the cpu graphics driver from the Device Manager.

The magic worked out and the app showed properly.

I turned the cpu graphics driver back on and everything is working fine.

The bad thing is I have to do this thing always I want to use gpu acceleration apps.
