Fixing this would require you to find the cause of the issue, and this can be multiple things.

You are saying the system has 2 disks, are they physical disks or are you talking about partitions?

 

If they are physical, it is likely that the 2nd disk is getting older and might not work as well (happens with spinning disks in laptops quite often unfortunately).

The other option is that the disk has started to come lose in the casing. In my career i have found many laptops where the screws came lose and started to wander in the system. If you shake the laptop, you can generally hear the rattling. In that case thread carefully as you can actually short the entire system out.
