Hello guys. I’m planning to build a pc, and I’m currently listing some possible brand of parts that I’ll be using/buying. I need some advice on how to choose the right specs for my needs. I’m planning to play mainly Cities Skylines on the gaming part, and also I’m a video editor/content creator( I edit on my old laptop by the way). So with that, what are your suggestion/s?(CPU, GPU, RAM, PSU, MB, SSD, etc).  Here is my planned cpu and gpu to buy, (amd ryzen 7 1700x and amd radeon xFX r9 390) and also 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz of RAM. Is that good? Thanks in advance have a good day!

PS: can you also include the estimated cost of what you’ll suggest? If possible only thanks

your suggestions will almost all be pcpartpicker lists so price is a given, what budget are you working with and what country are we considering for shopping?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I’m from the Philippines bro and I’m working with around 40,000php (765 USD) budget. Can I build something good with the cpu and gpu that I want at the same time not overspending?

So that is a different story, Philippino pricing isn't as easy. As for part selection, your parts are alright but what does an RX 580 cost compared to that R9 390? And the GTX 1060 6GB as well? More modern with the same performance level give or take, so they'd be preferable.

Also for CPU choice, pretty solid, if possible try to fit DDR4 3000 into the budget, since it would yield a good performance uplift. Although if you expect to overclock your current ram kit instead, it's a solid choice.

Make sure not to cheap out on the PSU. What are some of the power supplies you were considering?

I’ll be making a list soon and I’ll try comparing the cost of the GPUs you suggested. I’ll also consider fitting in the DDR4 3000 if possible. As for psu, EVGA 850 GQ.

I believe you meant power?

850 watts is quite a lot more than you'd need, 550 or 650 watts would give you expansion room aplenty. The GQ line is suitable for your build.

Yeah especially here in our country lol

How about RX470/480/570/580, R9 280X. Are you buying used?

For PSU check the tier list get B or better, it's determend by quality not price because its worldwide prices doesn't match.

I’m going all brand new. Will those gpu work well with High end graphics for gaming and also for heavy video editing? And for 1080p monitor

R9 390 is a old card that is not being produced anymore. Yeah kinda, how about GTX1660? Its hard to see the performance of such a old card so IDK.

Premiere Pro, After Effects

Nvidia graphics cards have an edge in these programs, consider a GTX graphics card. What would be available?
