Hey guys, i have been having alot of fps drops and i dont see why my temps are fine clocks dont go down the only thing i can see is my gpu usage that spikes up and down alot is this normal when gaming ?

The PSU im currently using is a thermaltake berlin 80+ 630 w
and my specs are following :
GPU: GTX 1080 8gb
CPU: i7 8700k OC at 4.5 ghz 1.145 v
RAM: Ripjaws 2x 8 gb 2400/mhz OC at 2533 mhz
Mainboard : asus prime z730p
PSU : thermaltake berlin 80+ 630 w
OS: Windows 10 pro x64
HDD: 2TB WD 7200 RPM
SSD: Kingston 120 gb with os and the game i play the most where the drops happen (Fortnite)

also tried to switch the game bettween HDD and SSD and still the same
my temps seem fine they dont jump too high to the point that it would cause drops
i have a thermaltake water 3.0 and 4 fans
its just the cpu usage that bugs me it doesnt look quite right and its all i can see when the drops happen or maybe its my ram causing this issues because i overclocked it but it seems stable when i stress test

and these are my graphs when playing i have my fps locked at 140 due to tearing and even if i stay still wihtout even moving my mouse the fps drops sometimes to 30 fps for a brief second and causes stuttering even in the menus of the game my fps drops to 80

i got to the point that i dont enjoy gaming anymore i come back from work all i wanna do is chill a little playing but i cant i get annoyed because i spent alot of money on this pc and it doesnt perform as it should :/

Now that you mention that my ping used to be max 10 ping and now i get 25 +  but does packet loss cause fps drops too ?  When i stress test with cinebench and other stress testing programs my fps is stable the usage too only when gaming it goes crazy both gpu and cpu sometimes drop very low  and i get fps drops every 30 seconds

In some games packet loss can look like a stutter. Every game handles it differently.

try an offline game and see what happens maybe?

Current: R2600X@4.0GHz\\ Corsair Air 280x \\ RTX 2070 \\ 16GB DDR3 2666 \\ 1KW EVGA Supernova\\ Asus B450 TUF

Old Systems: A6 5200 APU -- A10 7800K + HD6670 -- FX 9370 + 2X R9 290 -- G3258 + R9 280 -- 4690K + RX480

It hapens more im fortnite even when im in the lobby it drops alot

I have reinstalled the drivers with ddu also did a fresh windows install ,moved the os from hdd to ssd to see if it would run faster  and still the same

I cant go above 140 fps because of tearing i would like to so  it wouldnt drop fps too low my pc can go 240 + fps but if i cap at 144 i get a blurry line across the screen if i go above that line goes away but it looks too lagy maybe its my gpu i dotn know what else to think
