Hello,

So I very recently moved from a Micro ATX to a Mini ITX mobo and reused almost everything. The new Mini ITX case came with a riser cable that I HAVE to use do to its design.

What I thought was originally a mobo issue turns out to not be (I received my replacement today and these issues seem to be persisting).

My computer will just randomly get crackling audio and sometimes I'll lose my video signal, but I can still hear my music. I can turn the monitor back on and my PC is, seemingly, fine.

My question is, could this be a faulty riser cable? This is a used case and cable and my GPU was working flawlessly before moving it to this new setup.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Mobo - Asrock B450 Gaming-ITX/ac - fully updated BIOS

GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1080 - fully updated driver

RAM - Corsair Vengeance PRO RGB - 16gb (3200)

CPU - Ryzen 5 1600X

Thanks again!

why don't you take everything out of the computer then plug the GPU directly into the PCIe slot on the board and find out?

The above comment from OP pretty much answer your question @CircleTech

Just from reading what you stated without asserting my own assumptions. The problem seems to lie with the Riser Cable. Since the mATX build worked previously without any hiccups and since you transferred almost everything. This means that additional components are the problem.

If this is coming from the Stock Phanteks Shift Riser then this is a problem many people have had.

That's exactly what it is and seems to be a problem I didn't properly factor beforehand.

Seems a like replacement is rare. Found one through a company called BESTAR which has very high reviews from other Shift owners.

I've already sent a message to Phanteks and will wait to see what they say.

Appreciate the feedback!
