So, guys, I'm thinking of getting a mouse for around $30. I live in the northeast region of the U.S. I play FPS games a lot. What would be a good mouse for that? My hands are small to average sized. I'm fine with used, but I'd like to buy from amazon, because of prime shipping. Thanks.

You can get a used Corsair M65 pretty cheap off ebay.

I'll check it out, thanks. Do you think a g203 is as good or better though? (In terms of specs and weight, I understand comfort is subjective).

The materials look kind of cheap in comparision to the M65. The M65 has an aluminum frame and the g203 looks like it is all plastic.

The 65 also has more weight to it and has removable weights. Also has a higher dpi.

Hmm. I appreciate the materials comparison. But I do prefer lighter mice. And @jstudrawa recommended the m55, which looks very nice. Right now it looks like g203, m65, and m55 are my options.

Okay, quick question. I live in NJ, USA. I have smallish hands. I play FPS. Weight isn't too big of an issue. I would like at least 2 side buttons. Max DPI is of no concern to me. I'm right handed. Would like it from Amazon. Don't mind used.

With that in mind, what are some good mice for $30 that would work? I'm looking at the m55, and g203, maybe m65. Any other options? Thanks!

While I have only ever used this one mouse, I have the red dragon mouse linked below. Only thing to note is that you HAVE to get the black one, the white one comes in a cheapo plastic material but the black one has a nice grippy feel that softens with use and it is fantastic! I am also someone with smaller hands and have loved this mouse for the 3 years I have used it!

EDIT: The ability to program every button and even include simple macros is a huge plus too! The 'fire' button at the front is also a HUGE plus imo.

Like the others have said, of those 3 mice the Logitech one is probably the best for your money.  It performs almost as well as it's much more expensive counterpart (you'd really have to try to find a difference).  If money is an issue, Logitech's RMA service is one of the best so don't worry if the mouse has problems.

The G203 is probably the best mouse you can get for $30. It's basically a slightly worse G Pro.

The 203 doesn't really feel cheap tho, I have both a G Pro and a G102 (rebranded 203) and they are pretty much identical.

For FPSs, I would say that lighter is usually better and the M65's 135 grams is way too much even if you prefer heavier mice. DPI is also pretty irrelevant, since most people use between 400-2400dpi anyways.

Is the g203's Mercury sensor better than the Corsair m55's PAW 3357(iirc) sensor? If so, that would be definitely my choice.

I'm not sure, but AFAIK the Mercury sensor is basically the first iteration of Logitech's Hero sensor which is used in the G305, G Pro Wireless and other Logitech mice.

At this point most sensors are good enough, so it's more about shape/size. Most of the time it's really hard to tell the difference between sensors even for people like rocketjumpninja who owns a ton of mice and has lots of experience.

At this point it's negligible and it will perform as well as you need it to.  I'd recommend Logitech, I think they have the edge over Corsair but they're both good.

Actually, @PCGuy_5960, and

I found this deal on a razer deathadder elite.

$15 for a used deathadder elite looks nice, but I'm not sure on how good it is compared to the g203. I know it will fit my hand, I've tried it, so size isn't an issue.

I wouldn't buy it.  Razer itself is a bit of a hit or miss brand and their products usually don't last long and I especially wouldn't buy one second hand.  It is a tempting offer but I think buying a new Logitech mouse is the better choice and you'll have warranty if anything goes wrong.
