starlink operational?

I was watching a streamer when I noticed that the twitch messages show up on her stream almost 1 second before it shows up in the twitch chat and I've never had this happen before.

The only thing i can think of that meaning is starlink. ofc that could just be a joke and this seems really early for starlink to be operational. The streamer btw is remilia the first female professional league of legends player so its not super out of the realm of possibility that elon knows her. idk im probably just reading too much into a joke lol but idk what else can explain the chat unless twitch released an super ultra low latency stream mode.

yep i know its not but a streamer would be a perfect tester wouldnt it lol

The latency of a twitch stream has very little to do with raw network latency and is all about buffering and processing and re encoding.

Vid fetch in the same city as you, chat fetch is over at antartica. Streamer has low latency enabled. Ez.

 

But tbh, maybe it just took forever for the chat to connect and now it has a huge delay. Nothing cool or surprising here.
