low GPU usage in all games

i get low gpu usage all the time, i cant seem to find the bottleneck. i have a gtx 1070, i7 6700k. 16gb ram [corsair 2100mhz or 3000mhz cant remember] 550 gold seasonic PSU.1tb 7200rpm  hardrive.

 

i will get like 30% gpu usage in BF5 and like 80% cpu usage

 

rust i will get 50% gpu 50% cpu

 

minecraft 10% gpu

 

rocket league 30% gpu

 

so its a wide variety of games that i still get low gpu usage. is it a bottleneck?

The usage doesn't say anything without the outcome of this usage, how's your FPS? What's your monitor specs?

BF5 is very CPU intensive, especially in a 64 player server. You can look up game specific tweaks to try and reduce CPU usage. As far as the other games, what is your FPS in each? Minecraft is poorly optimized, Rocket League isn't an intensive game, and Rust isn't stressing your CPU much. Sounds more like Vsync or some other FPS limiter being enabled.

my fps is fine. its my fps spikes/frame drops happens on all games. i just get spikes in performance. dk what the problem is. my monitor is a 144hz acer 1080p

 

even if i run the lowest settings. still mad spikes

What do your CPU temps look like? the 6700k is a hot running chip and can easily thermal throttle without adequate cooling.

"BigDamn"  it averages around 50 - 60

BF5 is known to be CPU intensive and high CPU usage can cause lower GPU usage.

Not familiar with Rust enough to make an educated guess.

These games are low workloads for GPUs to render.

Yes and no. If a game is using all of the CPU, it's a bottleneck on the CPU. If it's using some of the CPU, it depends. The game may be relying on single core performance or the CPU is powerful enough to easily process game logic and the GPU can easily render the game. A lot of games aren't designed to run "as fast as possible" because after a certain point it becomes wasteful, among other things that would make ensuring the game runs the same on a variety of hardware painful.
