Ethernet not working with PC but works with PS4

Not sure what this issue is caused by, my brother ran the cable and said it was working fine on his account on the computer, however it doesn't work on my account. I had it working moments ago on my playstation 4.

 

I have tried updating the drivers etc, with no luck.

this ethernet cable is connected into a modem, a router, a switch?

 

you connect the ethernet into your ethernet adapter on your pc, does it have a yellow or green led showing any activity on that ethernet adapter?

The ethernet is connected into an apple router, which is connected to our sky modem.

 

The ethernet was showing a yellow light (I think) for a little bit, but not continuously.
