So I am curious with the current 14x 4 pin fans I have on my radiators what the best way to power these are?  I ordered two 10x fan support hubs.  Is this the best option?  And can I just run them through the psu?  Or do I need to run them through the mobo somehow?  Also can I use splitters or will that decrease the fan power on them?

What hubs?

Splitters should maintain and split the same signal sent to each fan.

I ordered two of these.  Will they do the job?  Its two rads, one 360 and one 480 (push/pull).

Powered splitters would be the best option. That way you're not drawing too much power from the PSU but you still have some illusion of control from the motherboard. That doesn't mean that they will work correctly but it's the best way to get "full power" from the fan.

Hell yeah, that's exactly what I had in mind.

Yep but you need to plug it into the motherboard or something that provides control. Only plugging it into the psu would just provide power and run fans at 100% rpm.

So do I need to get something else to control the fans?

What motherboard are you using? If your motherboard has fan control options, you can just plug it onto one of the motherboard fan headers.

Mobo is an asus rog maximus x formula.  Heres a pic.  Dunno if you are able to tell exactly?

Yes, any of the fan headers would be fine. You can use the motherboard fan controls to set a custom curve and set the header to pwm.

So I would be fine plugging 8 in one hub and 6 in the other and connecting to the mobo?

Sure, if that's how you want to organize them. The same signal would be sent to all fans on the hub so group the fans that you want to control with the same fan curve together. You can alternatively plug any other fans into the other motherboard fan headers.

Aight cool.  Thanks so much for the help.  I thought I read somewhere else hooking up too many fans to the mobo could kill it.  Do you think I would have that issue hooking the fans to those two hubs and then the hubs to the mobo?

The hub comes with a sata power connector for that reason. You plug it into the psu for auxiliary power.

Sorry I have never done this and don’t wanna mess it up.  So the sata will get plugged into the psu from the hub and then something else plugs into the mobo?

Yes, there's a cable that connects the MCPU header to a fan header on the motherboard.

So the fans are powered by the psu from the sata but the signal is sent to the mobo from the other connection.  Sorry last thing lmao.  So I will be able to control fan speeds with this?

Yep, you can control the fans using the motherboard settings.

So I got the pc booted up and the hubs turned all the fans on.  They got plugged into the mobo cpu fan 2 and 3 I think.  I got a fan error on first boot so had to disable that to boot windows.  My question now is the fans are very quiet and seem to be running at low speeds.  Cpu idle is around 31c on the current OC. How exactly can I now adjust the fan speeds?  I went into the bios and they are set to pwm and standard.  Is this generally left on standard?  I can switch it between standard, silent, turbo, full speed and manual.

Standard and Silent refer to preset fan curves. Manual allows for a custom fan curve. Full Speed is 100% rpm.

I left it on standard.  Is there ever a time that just running full speed would even make sense?

If the user is just aiming for maximum cooling, doesn't care about noise, or doesn't want faulty temperature sensors to affect cooling, running fans at full speed might make sense.

It's probably more useful for diagnosing fan issues though.
