ok so....i made a post on this way back but maybe making a update with a new post is smarter...

main idea is i had a few old parts laying around so im building my brother a pc from it.

its a i5 3470k and r9 290

for a back story those 2 wont work...i got a good more then enough roswell 730w psu in there and the r9 290 works perfectly.

same with the mobo and cpu.

both will run if the gpu is used on another mobo and if another gpu is used on the i5.(even a gtx 1080 ran on it)

the situation is the i gpu will always take over even if u tell the mobo to praiortize running from pcie

today i discovered if i remove the i5 and put it back in...it will work the gpu....

will boot and run perfectly.

UNTIL u restart same thing will do again the same thing.

and then the igpu will run again instead acting as the gpu isnt there.

it seems that the whole " new cpu instled" thing makes the igpu not take over.

im just wondering if there is a way to completely disable the igpu.

cus i cant find it in the mobo bios (its a p8h77-mle)

OR find a way to make it not disable the pcie.

cpu: 5950x

mobo: asus tuf pro x570

gpu: 3090 FE

ram: 32gb G.SKILL Trident Z 3200 c14

psu: Antec HCP1300w Platinum (overkill i know...got it for a good price)

thats all needed right?...i didnt study for this exam....
