I'm looking to increase the SSD storage I have in my PC. Currently I have a 250GB Crucial MX200 boot drive with a 1 TB WD Black harddrive and another 3TB WD green storage drive.

I want to move some of my games onto the SSD so Im thinking of getting a 1 TB SSD. Prices seem reasonable enough to me.

I saw that the Crucial P1 NVMe drive is like only 130$ for 1TB so that looks interesting. My motherboard is an Asus Z97-Pro and it has an M.2 slot but I believe it is limited to PCIe 2.0 x4. I will upgrade my system at some point in the next few years but for now it is doing the job.

Should I just grab a normal sata ssd is the P1 too good a deal to pass up? Feel free to recommend something else if you have other ideas.

Note that pcie 2.0 x4 is still around 4gb/s transfer speeds, more than enough for any current m.2 ssd

Thats a pretty normal price these days for a 1tb nvme drive, id say go for it.

its in CAD so like under 100$ usd seems cheap as **** to me haha

any difference between the ones I posted above?

Both the Intel 660p and Crucial P1 are about the same in all aspects and being perfectly honest they are the best value SSD you can find.

This video has all the information you need, in the end you'll go with either of those... I personally picked the 660p solely because I like Intel but I also have a Crucial(Micron) MX500 on my laptop which has never failed me.

you can buy this card to get the latest support of nvme with faster storage. otherwise your performance will be limited your motherboard which will significantly cap the performance of the newer drives.
