Hey guys, I'm having a problem when I shut the computer down, and I think it has something to do with my new mouse, a Steelseries Diablo 3 mouse (which is just a rebranded Xai).  Ever since I got my mouse a few weeks ago, everytime I shut the computer down, it freezes on the shutdown screen, and I have to smother the computer (press and hold power) until it shuts down. However, this only happens when my mouse is plugged in. If I unplug my mouse before starting the shutdown, it continues correctly and turns off on its own. I think it's trying to cycle through the usb ports and power them down, but it gets stuck on my mouse, as it doesn't power down (it still lights up), and neither does my keyboard. I've tried switching the mouse to other USB ports, but it happens with all of them.

If any of this helps, the problems could exist in any of these:
Windows 7 Professional

GA 990-FXA-UD3 AM3+
SteelSeries Diablo 3 Mouse (rebranded Xai)

I'm at a loss for why this is happening, so any feedback or input is appreciated. Thanks.

hey @Mark7993

sounds like the drivers for the mouse are a little dodgy. You could try reinstalling the drivers and see if that fixes it. It might not, and could just be the drivers are crap, causing it to hang and stall your computer from shutting down.

You could try testing the mouse on another machine and see if it repeats there, too.

Other than that, not sure what else you could do.

If you installed drivers that came with the mouse, try uninstalling them. If the problem goes away, you can either leave it that way, or, if there's some feature of the driver that you particularly want, you can check the Steelseries website to see if there's an updated driver.

The mouse may have come with both a "driver" and a "control panel". Try uninstalling just the driver.
