How does a laptop motherboard compare to a Micro ATX/Mini ATX/ITX board ?

Ok...I've got a GL502vm from 2016 with i7 6700hq n a gtx 1060 in it... I have a thunder bolt 3 port too but doesnt give the performance i want

I know that we have add on cards for desktops... but is there a way to install other expansion cards externally to a laptop? Like how linus made eGPU by opening up the laptop n plugging it to the wifi card slot/ m.2 slot...

Are there any adapters of sort ? or can we even design a solution as such ?

ok why am i ask this ?

cuz i want to put a titan ridge thunderbolt 3 card from gigabyte to my laptop...

It's called a 'laptop' for a reason.

If your 1060 is connected through a MXM slot, then you could maybe kinda sorta spend massive amounts of time and money on figuring out a solution to get the PCIE from that but it's probably super not worth it

Sig under construction.
