New case or water cooling ?

Go to solution Solved by seon123,

Check the settings for any protections in the BIOS, and also adjust the fan curve.

There is no "normal" CPU or GPU temperature for you to compare against. That depends on the CPU itself (even within the same model), the cooler and case, and the motherboard. For the GPU it also depends on the GPU itself, the cooler and the case.

1 month ago I bought my first gaming pc and it has some issues my CPU degrees are higher than normal and it shuts down when it comes to 80 degree

*COMPUTER*

B450m-k

RX 590 Nitro 8 GB

ADATA D30 3000 Mhz x2

* CPU : Ryzen 5 2600

*Case : Coolermaster lite 5 600 watt

*Cooling : 3x120 fans in front , 120 exhaust fan in the back

& CPU stock cooler and ZM-STG2 as thermal paste

IDLE :39 to 45 degrees

MIN LOAD : 45 to 65

MEDIUM AND HIGH END USE : 70 to 80 that leads to Pc shutdown

* GPU is a little hotter than usual too ( 5-7 degrees )

* The case is quiet unlike the some people experiencing

* If the CPU degree comes to 70 it ALWAYS reaches 80 and shutdown

I can either get a better case or use liquid cooling in my Lite 5 it will pretty much will be the same price

-its not supposed to shut down at 80c, 80c is completely fine. heck, even 90 won't cause problems.

-case isn't that bad for airflow, but not the best. probably isn't the issue considering you have 4 fans in there

First step is to remount CPU cooler, and change out thermal paste(Put a pea-sized drop on the cpu and mount the cooler, clean off old thermal paste before remounting). Stock cooler is perfectly fine for 2600. You do not need any sort of water cooling for this.

If remounting CPU cooler and changing thermal paste doesn't work, get a Hyper 212

I actually used a better thermal paste than it came with and results were a little bit better but still went to 80

and I know the max is 95 but is just shut downs near 80 don't know why

I disabled the heat shutdown protections and it finally stabilizes at 84.7 degree
