Heya, wasnt exactly sure where to post this so hopefully here is ok.

I remember watching some videos where linus went over how they went about adding new footage to the 'LTT storage system'. I feel like it was in one of the red footage videos?

They had a desk setup with a ton of different adatpers for storage media, so somebody could put say a sd card in after filming, copy it to the server, then editors took what they wanted from there. It all looked quite streamlined and linus was showing off increased bandwidth? For the life of me i couldn't find the video.

Generally what I was needing a re-education on was the hardware LTT  were using to allow for decent 4K scrubbing in premier pro (from a remote drive), and also, how to make the encoding, rendering and all of that export process as fast as possible!

You were able to see the ingest station (what they call it) in the iJustine video at the very least.

It was an iMac mini (with 10Gbit Ethernet) with a whole bunch of cardreaders hooked up.

They put the ingested files in a folder and a server (their 36 core? 72 core now?) Converts these files into a mezzanine codec (a codec that is large so not suitable for long time storage/YouTube, but easy for a PC to play) so the editors can work from it.

Maybe the Lenovo sponsored LTT workflow video (the one Edzel hosted) and the GamersNexus LTT workflow videos can shed some more light on the (current) process.

They sadly have not done one video saying 'hey, this is how we do it all' in a bit, so some of the info I mentioned may be kind of out of date.

I remember them using 'Cineform' as their mezzanine codec, but that may have changed with the Red cameras now (as I remember them using Cineform in the Sony 4K days).
