Does Ram effect cpu light?

On my b450tomahawk everything turns on but there is a cpu light on its a ryzen 3600, and i did flash the bios with a flash drive, could it be my ram or should i do the flash thing again

My ram is this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK8GX4M1A2400C16R-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B01ARHCZYO/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=ram+8gb+ddr4+red&qid=1564146430&s=gateway&sr=8-2

I read the description it said it doesnt support amd anywhere so im getting new ram of 16gb 3000mhz ryzen tuned

but just wondering if i should flash the bios again

RAM sticks don't support CPU's or motherboards, rather it's the other way around. I didn't find that specific kit from the MSI's QVL list but that alone doesn't mean it wouldn't work.

If it's CPU light, I'd guess it's CPU related. I guess you bought that board with the 3600, so you don't have access to an older ryzen CPU?

I have plugged in all the cables and re done the cpu one and it still shows a red light, im going to try and put new ram in after today, if that doesnt work im going to assume that the mobo isnt recognising the cpu and therefore im going to have to do the bios flashback again

I think I've seen a few mentions around the net that some MSI boards have had trouble booting up with Zen2 and that they're still working on it. I'd probably try flashing with all the possible BIOS versions that support Zen2 and try with only one RAM stick installed. Or ask if any of the friends have earlier Ryzen CPU's to lend for a bit

Today I finally get to build my new setup (asus x470-f and 3700X with old RAM), so we'll see if I'll be joining the club ?

AMD offers Boot kits with a donor CPU to update your BIOS, you could probably try that.  B450 Motherboard usually need a BIOS update to support Zen2 CPUs.

why no dark mode?

@Mnky313 Yeah i have done that but it still wont do anything so im going to see what it does with new ram in

Ok, If that doesn't work you could always check the CPU for bent pins.

@Mnky313 I am 100% positive there is no bent pins, i think its to do with the bios so is it ok to update via usb with everything installed?

On that board it shouldn't matter if you do the BIOS flash with everything installed or not. You could try different ways, and maybe flashing the bios twice in a row or clearing the cmos. Looks like people are pretty mad about tomahawk right now : (
