Hi all,

Just wondering if my PC will be able to run Spectrasonic Omnisphere 2.6...

I know it meets all the other requirements, but where it says 2.4ghz or higher processor, is that gonna be regardless of core count or will my 1.7ghz dual core suffice? (Please dont reply saying I need an i7 to have good performance. I know, i just want to run it on this laptop and if i want good performance ill use my desktop.)

Just try it. It might be able to turbo higher than 1.7 GHz if its the base clock and it might be able to multi thread well. However, if it doesn't run playably, try a cloud computing service. You just need to be able to stream the video to your PC.

Thanks for reply. After a quick check on ark, it turns out that this CPU can't turbo, but can you please name any good cloud services (preferably free/cheap)? thanks

You can get a 4 core 3.1 GHz ryzen processor for only $36, and a basic cooler should be only around $20-25. Don't tell me you can afford $400 softare but not a $60 CPU + cooler. Then again, that requires an AM4 socket and a  MBD with a compatible chipset. So alternatively you could get the slightly more powerful (than your current CPU) core2 quad with 4 cores and 2.66 GHz for $43. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DEWO9W/?tag=pcpapi-20
