Hi,

I'm looking for a way to have high-end surround sound on my PC.

I looked into run of the mill surround systems, but their speakers are not the best.

Does anyone know a surround av receiver with a USB digital input to hook it up to a pc or a dac and amp that would allow to connect 6 or 8 passive speakers?

Like @circeseye said, you use HDMI for most surround setups. This is a pretty nice AVR, lots of connectivity and power: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Denon-AVR-X2500H-AV-Receiver-Amplifier/dp/B07DKJ3NMY/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=denon+avr&qid=1563912233&s=gateway&sr=8-2

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)
